Evaluation and assessment procedure

Applications are evaluated by the Systems Biology admission committee. Selected candidates are invited for an interview taking place in Zurich in early February (week 6) and in early September (week 36), for the application deadlines of December 1st and July 1st, respectively.

Invited candidates will have the opportunity to meet with group leaders of their choice to discuss possible areas of research. Accommodation and travel expenses are reimbursed by the program. Accepted candidates are informed shortly after the interviews and should start their PhD project within six months of acceptance to the program.

Candidates accepted to a PhD program are automatically accepted to the other PhD programs of the LSZGS and can change the program if the chosen PhD position is closer to the topic of another PhD program.

Applicants accepted for the program will have to register with either ETH Zurich or the University of Zurich, depending on the affiliation of their future research group.
